Shadou and Derek had an upcoming show for the Seattle International Dance Festival and needed a promotional photo for their performance. We met up for coffee and talked about their vision. Their piece had a lot of tension between the two dancers and wanted to convey the controlled struggle. We chose to do a flat almost washed out look for the images.
They came over to the studio and got to work. We took some shots with different moves until we found the one we were looking for.
